News and Events
As our site continues to grow we will post updates on our progress and the events that will take place on site. We look forward to keeping everyone informed on our progress and our return to regularly scheduled events like the annual gospel concert and homecoming.
The Warren Site will return to its status as a community center serving those who grew up in the area, as a site for research on family history, and as a tool to learn about traditional local African American Communities.
Warren Historic Site Committee expresses gratitude for SHARP Grant
We are overwhelmed with gratitude to all the agencies that provided the funding for the SHARP Grant. These include (NEH) Sustaining the Humanities through the American Rescue Plan (SHARP) Initiative, National Endowment of the Humanities (NEH), Maryland Humanities as a part of the American Rescue Plan (ARP)for supporting us in our endeavors to financially maintain, prepare for reopening, and providing programs at the historic site after the pandemic. The Warren Site is the last in Maryland that contains all three buildings including the Church, Schoolhouse, and Loving Charity Hall. We want to also thank all Maryland Government elected officials and representatives that supported this funding.
